Superstar Racing Experience, a six-week summer racing series started in 2021 by Tony Stewart and Ray Evernham, will not have a 2024 season. The announcement below says it is “postponed,” but it likely will not be back.

Social media speculation has run the gamut from Paul Tracy’s excessive crash damage to Ray Evernham’s new IROC revival. The truth may be somewhere in between. I don’t think a new series which has announced just one race at a yet to be determined track or date, would kill off an established series.

It was a fun series which provided me entertaining racing to fill in the down time between other events. Moving to Thursday nights I thought was a great idea, as there was no other racing going on that evening.
